These birds are just loaded with epic features like eyes that don’t move in their sockets, heads that rotate 270 degrees and wings that have soft edges and make no noise when they swoop in on their prey. Our birds are designed with 1/8-inch CorTen steel to form a protective patina that deepens and strengthens with the seasons. This patina will deepen in shade over the years until it reaches a deep brown/charcoal black hue.
This self-sealing aspect of CorTen steel provides a quality guarantee of up to 100 years, ensuring that our product lasts a lifetime and remains completely corrosion resistent.
What might initially resemble generic rust is simply the air and water-tight patina forming over a six month period, so don’t panic! Your Metalbird is doing exactly what it’s been designed to do, and this patina will protect the steel from any further damage and disintegration.
CorTen steel does not require any treatments, oils or chemical additives and is therefore extremely environmentally friendly.
We’ve partnered with both Canada Post and FedEx to get your Metalbird to you quickly and reliably, charging less than the actual shipping costs on average and still offer free shipping on orders over $180 :

FedEx: Our faster, more reliable option, with delivery in 1-3 days on average. While FedEx costs have climbed over the last 18 months, we continue to absorb a portion of the charges to keep rates down for you.
- In-Zone FedEx rates start from $14.99.
- Out-of-Zone FedEx rates (see the postal code list below) start from $29.99. For those in our “Shipping & Returns” RED zones, rates are set to $100 by default—reach out to our customer service team to see if we can find a better rate for you.
