The Bald Eagle flying overhead, emitting a rough, piercing scream is a classic image. The only problem? They don't make that sound. Also, not bald, but with a head of fine white feathers. Hard to believe, but Canada’s largest bird of prey was once nearly wiped out by humans using DDT or shooting them as pests or trophies. Did you know that when a Bald Eagle loses a feather on one wing, it will lose a feather on the other to keep perfect balance? What a finely tuned machine, deserving of a special spot at your place.

Care Instruction

Our birds are designed with 1/8-inch CorTen steel to form a protective patina that deepens and strengthens with the seasons. This patina will deepen in shade over the years until it reaches a deep brown/charcoal black hue.

This self-sealing aspect of CorTen steel provides a quality guarantee of up to 100 years, ensuring that our product lasts a lifetime and remains completely corrosion resistent.

What might initially resemble generic rust is simply the air and water-tight patina forming over a six month period, so don’t panic! Your Metalbird is doing exactly what it’s been designed to do, and this patina will protect the steel from any further damage and disintegration.

CorTen steel does not require any treatments, oils or chemical additives and is therefore extremely environmentally friendly.

Due to recent Canada Post strikes we've partnered with both UPS and FedEx to get your Metalbird to you quickly and reliably. Please note, UPS out-of-zone surcharges may apply for rural or remote areas. Additionally, due to increased demand on FedEx, we’ve temporarily removed our FedEx Express service, as we can’t guarantee its reliability at this time.
