Cardinal
A familiar visitor. Your own meaning.
A Cardinal against fresh snow is the sort of sight that makes you stop at the window. The crest and long tail are unmistakable, even without that famous red.
For some, a Cardinal recalls someone they miss. For others, it’s simply their favourite backyard bird. Our silhouette leaves the meaning with you: a gift, a memory, or a small piece of art outside the kitchen window.
Steel that changes with the seasons
Corten is weathering steel. Outdoors, its surface develops a rust-coloured patina. The colour and rate of change vary with exposure, rain and drying. Your bird is meant to change with the seasons.
Leave the steel unpainted to enjoy the changing finish. Choose a spot where rust run-off won’t mark pale paving, walls or other surfaces.
Choose a perch. Tap it in.
Choose a sturdy wooden fence post, deck post or timber planter. Position the integrated mounting spike against the wood and tap it in gently with a hammer until the bird sits securely. Avoid striking the bird itself.
Choose a spot you have permission to use. Keep the spike out of children’s reach. A clear background helps the silhouette and cut detail stand out.
A small box with someone in mind.
A birthday, a new home, or a quiet way to say you’re thinking of someone. The Cardinal arrives in flat gift packaging, ready for your own note.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Cardinal red?
No. The piece is cut from unpainted Corten steel. It develops a rust-coloured patina outdoors. Its crest, profile and branch detail identify the Cardinal.
Can it stay outside through winter?
Yes. Corten steel is designed for year-round outdoor use. Its surface changes to a rust-coloured patina as it weathers. Keep rust run-off away from pale paving or other surfaces.
How do I install it?
Tap the integrated spike into suitable solid timber with a hammer. Avoid striking the bird itself. No separate bracket is needed.
Where does it ship from, and can I return it?
Canadian orders ship from Montréal. Returns must be requested within 30 days of delivery while the bird is unused, uninstalled and in original condition. See Delivery and returns for shipping charges and full conditions.
