It’s said that parrots are a little bit like orchids: there are many, many species, each more strange and beautiful than the last. These vibrantly coloured birds are capable of mimicking human speech, living up to 80 years, and falling in love, exemplifying everything that’s beautiful and bizarre about nature. Facing heavy threats from climate change, deforestation, and trafficking, we made this gorgeous pair of parrots to celebrate and raise awareness.
Our Parakeets are:

Our birds are designed with 1/8-inch CorTen steel to form a protective patina that deepens and strengthens with the seasons. This patina will deepen in shade over the years until it reaches a deep brown/charcoal black hue.
This self-sealing aspect of CorTen steel provides a quality guarantee of up to 100 years, ensuring that our product lasts a lifetime and remains completely corrosion resistent.
What might initially resemble generic rust is simply the air and water-tight patina forming over a six month period, so don’t panic! Your Metalbird is doing exactly what it’s been designed to do, and this patina will protect the steel from any further damage and disintegration.
CorTen steel does not require any treatments, oils or chemical additives and is therefore extremely environmentally friendly.
We’ve partnered with both Canada Post and FedEx to get your Metalbird to you quickly and reliably, charging less than the actual shipping costs on average and still offer free shipping on orders over $180 :

- Out-of-Zone FedEx rates (see the postal code list below) start from $29.99. For those in our “Shipping & Returns” RED zones, rates are set to $100 by default—reach out to our customer service team to see if we can find a better rate for you.
