Description

The Hummingbird & Chicks is an extra special release, created as a tribute to moms across CA as Mothers Day approaches. A silhouette of a tender moment between a Hummingbird and her chicks, this limited edition Metalbird is crafted from corten steel and inspired by the women who raised us!

Like everyone else, Mothers are an endlessly varied bunch! But the moms among us know that it’s one of the hardest jobs in the world, with a million tasks that have to be juggled, hundreds of little details and endless lists. And yet, somehow our moms still manage to SPARKLE, to be a source of joy in the lives of everyone around them. For us, the Hummingbird & Chicks is a way of capturing that endless energy for giving, always on the go and moving a mile a minute, and being wonderful while they do it.

It’s only when we grow up that we understand just how much our moms did, and probably still do, for us! That alone deserves a day (or a month) of celebration and recognition. With Mothers Day around the corner, this Metalbird is a way to celebrate anyone who filled that role for you, shaping and encouraging you until you were ready to fly!

Each Metalbird is crafted from Corten® Steel, a premium, weathering steel made to last.

When it meets the elements, it doesn’t rust like your old BBQ. It transforms.

That change you’re seeing? That’s patina. A tough, protective outer layer that seals the steel, adds character, and preserves your bird for decades.

This isn’t paint. It’s nature’s way of ageing gracefully.

The Patina Process:

At first, you’ll notice bright orange spots (we call this the teenage phase). Soon enough, the whole bird will turn a bold orange, slowly shifting into deep burnt umber. Eventually, it settles into a moody charcoal that feels like it’s always belonged.

The Result? A piece of industrial art with a heartbeat. No peeling, no fading, just a bird that gets better with age.

what’s the word on the bird?
